"Where's the should we go?"

A frequent question I get asked with couples interested in eloping is where is the best place to go... and maybe you're wondering that yourself! The correct answer is.... anywhere! The location should be somewhere that resonates with YOU as a couple. Your destination should excite you, and in 10 years from now when you're reminiscing, it should still bring you joyful memories. Is your dream to hike far into the mountains, or to forge your own path in the desert? In this post, I've compiled a list of 10 awe-inspiring destinations to consider as your elopement destination in 2023.

Diamond Beach, Iceland

About a 5 hour drive from Reykjavik sits Diamond Beach - a unique, obsidian beach covered in glowing ice formations. Vibrant blue 'diamonds' offset by coal black sand...talk about DRAMA! Bonus: the ice chunks do not melt in the summer, making it a picturesque location year-round. This moody, cinematic destination perfectly sums up Iceland's slogan: The Land of Fire and Ice.

The Dolomites, Italy

This stunning mountain range is perfect for couples who love hiking. At almost 11,000 ft, these historical mountains are infamous for their pale color and unusual geological features...guaranteeing an impressive backdrop for your elopement photos! About a 3 hour drive from Venice, the Dolomites Mountains are an excellent choice for a countryside getaway. Keep in mind though; not all routes are accessible in the Winter & Spring.

Ubud, Bali

Located in the heart of Bali, Ubud is famous for its' lush rainforests, artistic community and spiritual influence. Exchange vows overlooking insanely gorgeous temples and flourishing rice terraces, then spend your afternoon at the Ubud art markets amongst hundreds of vibrant local goods. Catch a traditional performance near the Royal Palace to fully experience the culture!

Banff, Canada

Insanely turquoise waters complimented by a snow-capped mountain range? Say less. Lake Louise, in the middle of Banff National Park, is a popular spot for a wide range of activities year-round. Spend an afternoon canoeing in the summer, or ski the infamous resorts in the winter! Whatever your elopement style is, Banff is sure to be absolutely epic.

Santorini, Greece

Dreaming of a Mamma Mia elopement? You can't get more Grecian than Santorini! Infamous for the blue church domes and sun-bleached buildings, this coastal city provides beautiful scenery 360º. Something to note: walking on the roofs near the domes is illegal (despite what you might see on IG) so be respectful of the area. Take a sunset sail in crystal blue waters and pop some champagne!

Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Stand at the edge of the world on the legendary Cliffs of Moher in Western Ireland. Embrace the magic of Ireland by eloping in one of the most unforgettable locations in the world. Grab a Guinness and cheers to starting your new life 700+ ft off the ground. Aim for a sunrise arrival to beat the crowds!

Patagonia, Argentina

If you're looking for something unlike any other elopement, make the journey to the southernmost point of South America! Patagonia awaits anyone who earns it: this treacherous location features everything you could possibly want from deserts to glaciers, and the largest waterfall in the world. Keep in mind; this remote location requires a full day of travel to arrive, making it truly off the beaten path!

Swiss Alps, Switzerland

The Swiss Alps is the most well-known mountain range in the world... and for good reason! Spend the day hiking to Lake Geneva, or the submits bordering France, then celebrate in the luxurious countryside with some proper Swiss cheese fondue. It's the perfect place for an adventurous elopement in the mountains!

Sahara Desert, Morocco

For a true desert elopement, think no further than the Sahara Desert in Southern Morocco. Hundreds of miles of red sands expand across Northern Africa to make up the largest desert in the world. Find a tour guide so you don't get lost and ensure humane practices with camel rides. Bring plenty of water & sunscreen!
